Day 22 - more waterfalls

More waterfalls today, honestly they are all merging into one and I can’t keep them straight in my head.  Hraunfossar & Barnafoss were first up, not totally inspiring in terms of photography, but Baranfoss was a pretty impressing chicane through volcanic rock.

Then we headed to Pingvellir National Park which boasts the Oxararfoss waterfall.

Oxararfoss

It falls into the rift in between the north American and Eurasian tectonic plates, so this is technically the very last waterfall in North America.  Close by Oxararfoss is Dead Man Walk – the canyon from Game of Thrones, which I think I have already said, I have not watched.  It is quite amazing though the see the split between the tectonic plates, and it actually is quite beautiful.

Last stop of the day was Bruarfoss, a rare waterfall that does not have a “no drones”sign, so I was able to pop mine up and get some shots of this one from above.  There will be a guy in a red jacket in the pictures though, who spent AGES right in the middle of the river, ruining everyone elses shot.  Sigh.  The water really was the most amazing blue colour.  This will be added to the list of favourites.

We headed to Skjoll campsite, and they made us park miles away from the toilet block.  But they did have a few cute pet bunnies that were hopping around the place.
